The nominations for the 56th NAACP Image Awards are in, and Ayo Edebiri, Keke Palmer and GloRilla made the cut, dominating in their respective categories.
Edebiri is leading the television and streaming categories with four nods, three of which are for her role in The Bear. She ties with Palmer, whose nominations are for her performances in The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy, Password, her podcast Baby, This is Keke Palmer and entertainer of the year, where she’s up against Cynthia Erivo, Kendrick Lamar, Kevin Hart and Shannon Sharpe.
GloRilla leads the pack in the musical categories with six nominations, including outstanding female artist and outstanding album for her debut album, Glorious. Doechii, Kendrick and Usher follow behind, each earning a total of four nods.
In the motion picture categories, The Piano Lesson dominates with 14 nominations, while Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist earned nine nods, leading in the television categories. Netflix is also a nominee, receiving a total of 64 nominations this year.
Voting for select categories is open at naacpimageawards.net and will close on Feb. 7 at midnight ET. Winners will be announced on Feb. 21 at the 56th NAACP Image Awards Creative Honors Ceremonies on naacpimageawards.net and during the live special, airing Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT on BET and CBS.
The theme for this year is Our Stories, Our Culture, Our Excellence.
